Perched at 1400 feet above sea level, against the rolling San Gabriel Mountains, Canopy is both the private residence and living canvas for And And And Studio.
A 1959 mid-century that lost its way, the studio’s renovation, through a transformative act of excavation, reveals the inherent beauty of the natural construction materials allowing the story of the place to resurface. The process demonstrates one of the studio’s foundational ideas that the way you inhabit a home should allow you to live and express yourself authentically.
With free reign to allow curiosity to be nurtured and ideas to flow and gush the result is a calm, natural soothing retreat in the middle of bustling Los Angeles below — a calm counterpoint to trend-driven design and the fullest expression of the studio's aesthetic philosophy.
